New year, New me, New life

G'Day y'all!
Its been awhile, wedding planning is like a full time job!
I said "YES" to the dress  back in July 2013, was able to share my story, meet some amazing sweet people and gain a stunning wedding gown!
I have also finally gotten back to modeling in between gaining my strength back, wedding planning and dealing with the everyday stresses of life. Yeah plenty of those!

With the "big day" less than 2 months away, (April 5th 2014), I was just emailed by a few folks from different departments of TLC with talks of doing press releases and other such things for my upcoming episode for "Say yes to the dress".  I know many girls/woman might have done the show for those 15 minutes, but I personally just wanted to get my story out there and show people their is hope and life after cancer. I hope my story helps 100's or maybe 1000's, but if I can inspire and touch just one person, and show them how good God is, I will be happy.

I figured I would show some photos from some of my recent shoots after having cancer a second time.
Shot by a photographer I have worked with many times the amazing Mr. John Cooper of NYC,(1,2,3,7,8) and adorable local photographer Heather Elizabeth (4,5,6) :-)
Enjoy, take care, and GOD BLESS!
xoxo

p.s. my episode will air feb 21st ;)

Back up and running :)

YAY!!! Finally done with chemo, radiation, and have healed up nicely from my major surgery :) God is good!!
James and I have recently gotten all moved down to NC, (finally with my family again!), James is hard at work on getting a job, (so proud of him!)
We have our first wedding cake tasting tomorrow, yay! We just signed our contract with our venue here in Greenville, and also with our DJ! Things are really getting underway. I have to say, never thought I could have done all this planning by myself! But researching and sending off emails to many people to get the best deals on the best vendors while I was sick helped my mind stay off of everything that was going on at the time :)
Oh, not sure if I mentioned.. I was asked to be filmed for the show, "SAY YES TO THE DRESS!" :)
At first I didn't want to, but after they where kind enough to give me a $2500 gift certificate towards a dress,  I agreed :) Plus I would love to share my story to inspire other young women that might be going through this same ordeal.
So flying back up to NYC the 27th, to be filmed the 28th, I AM SOOOO NERVOUS!! I just hope I can put my nerves aside and be able to pick my gown!!
So happy to be back on my feet, getting better and better everyday that goes by. My AMAZING sweet agents at Wilhelmina modelogic in VA have been SO patient while waiting for me to get better :) I just sent my new updated snap shots in my bikini, and they still think i am just as beautiful, yay! :)
Also a TOP agency in Miami I used to be with, I sent a few of my snaps, and they want to rep me again :)
Makes me feel good I still seem to be meant to do this :) Battle scar and all :,)
The following are a few snap shots, these are agency shots meaning you are as you are, no photoshop, no makeup or anything fancy. THIS IS ME. way too skinny, but just taken after ending my chemo may 20th!
Stay real!

Our engagement photos!!

So haven't posted in a long while, I as those of you who know me or have followed me know was a stage 4 cancer survivor, well I've been fighting once again.
I had been having pain and issues in the summer of 2012, found out I once again had cancer.
It was so very upsetting as you can imagine just got engaged, just moved closer to family in VA and NC.. then Bam. I had one of the most severe surgeries know to man back in Oct 2012 called the Whipple procedure. They take out part of your colon, pancreas, bile duct, small intestine, stomach and in my case they also took out part of my right kidney, (which will eventually no longer be functioning), and my gallbladder. My fiance has been there EVERY STEP of the way. :) He quit his job he had just gotten in VA, and came back up to NJ to be with me while I undergo radiation and once again chemo treatments.
We have been getting through this together, it has made us stronger, I have grown closer to God and James and I have more love in our relationship than most will ever know :) I feel so incredibly blessed, and I hope this is the second and final time I have to battle this beast named Cancer. Looking forward to spending the rest of my days with my prince charming I KNOW was sent to me!
Till my next post!
Also here is our wedding website! Feel free to stop by! http://www.theknot.com/wedding/McRoy-and-Disney

Feel the Jungle

I just got images from the photographer from my shoot on Sept 1st.  First time I shot in a while!
The name of the story is "Feel the Jungle". It was a pretty fast shoot, but felt good to hop back in it!
Hope y'all enjoy!

In VA now and still at it!

Oh yeah I might have forgotten to mention, I got signed with THE agency in VA.
My amazing fiance,(James), and I moved to VA to be closer to family, and start our new lives together, I was perfectly willing to move on from modeling,(even though I do still have a great passion for it!), God bless this man, he has been doing nothing but encouraging me to keep on with it. :)
With being a top agency in NYC as well, and having a location in Virginia as well, can you guess which agency??
Give up? Wilhelmina! I met with them before going on vacation first week in Sept, and they signed me on the spot :)  I am with there Modelogic branch. Their site, click women to see me ;)

Crazy-Busy-Awesome!!

So Being engaged to the man of my dreams has been... literally.. a dream!!
I always thought once engaged and starting to settle down meant being done with modeling..
NOPE!
My amazing man has done nothing but encourage me to keep on, (as do my fans! that feels so strange saying but its true!)
Things have been go, go, go ever since i got that ring!  We moved to VA to be closer to family.
I met with the top agency down here Modelogic Wilhelmina and was signed on the spot! Link to Me on site :)
Had my first shoot in a while the 1st, and James and I will be heading up to NYC tonight for a hair shoot the 12th :) :)

Despite some recent health issues, (hopefully we can get resolved soon), things have been amazing!

Above are a few cell shots from BTS of recent shoot in DC :)
